Action sculpture in a bookshop in Iceland and in a Shoppingcenter Antilla in Finland Kuopio part of Anti Festival 2013.

I was interested in the contrast that emerges and how the elements of humor and banality compromise each other. The act is intense and disturbing, but then enfolds into a perpetual constant reputation. Fake fire is installed and then taken away without anything happening. The hot dog stand in Reykjavik is on fire, but they are still serving hot dogs. It’s a methodically poetic presentation of destruction, through the use of humor. The facade of the fires are very theatrical, with the hint of creating humorous circumstances, a one big joke, but not escaping the fact that rises within, what if?

This is a compromise of two worlds.
